Oh! What a day...

It's been a full several days, but today really took it out of me. Mom and I were in the car for almost eleven hours. Well, not solid, but almost! Drove from San Diego to LA. Stopped briefly at my house, and had to go pick up some papers from a friend. Got back on the road and drove north. Then, we're driving down Highway 5 at 85 mph and hear this loud thud like a rock or something hit the car. We couldn't figure out what it was, but got off at the next stop with a gas station (maybe 10 minutes). One of the tires had BLOWN! The car was driving fine and not making that flat tire noise at all. The good news is that the tire was low, but not completely flat so it did what it's supposed to do - with the exception of BLOWING - that is. I didn't even feel a bump in the car so I guess it's made well. (I knew I loved my car). By the time the auto club arrived to put on the spare (half hour later) it was completely pancake flat. Cross your fingers that I didn't damage the wheel, but I don't think so. This was halfway between LA and my Mom's and I couldn't drive over 65 mph with that toy spare tire they give you now. We didn't get home until 9:30 pm and left San Diego at 10:30 am. Drove over 500 miles. UGH!!!

Mom was staying with me the past few days for the Paul McCartney concert (11/30) and an event at the TV Academy to honor Jonathan Winters on 12/1. Then we went to San Diego overnight to visit friends. It was a pretty good couple of days. Paul was AMAZING! He performed onstage for 3 hours SOLID! The band took a couple of breaks and he'd play a song or two on the piano or guitar and then the band would come back. He did Beatles songs, Wings songs, his solo songs, some stuff he used to cover at the start of his career, and a few off the new CD. It was just an incredible show.

Okay, that's more than anyone wants to read about my life at one sitting.

I'll try to catch up with my posts to everyone soon.

Wow - your car is amazing. I dread that happening to me. So glad you stayed safe.

And the concert! Whoop! Whoop! Sounds like you had a fab time, honey, and I'm so pleased for you!
